The weekend is just around the corner, and Vancouver may experience some precipitation to kick the forecast off before the weather dries off for the foreseeable future.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is calling for a chance of showers on Friday, July 10.
However, things are set to dry off and begin a pattern of what ECCC called “typical summer weather” for the Metro Vancouver region.

Winds may pick up on Friday, blowing up to 20 km an hour in the morning. Make sure to keep some sunscreen on hand as the UV index is set to reach seven or higher.

BC Wildfire Service
The out-of-control Brunswick Creek wildfire has forced the closure of a section of Highway 1, with no timeline for reopening.
“Hot, dry weather and windy conditions drove elevated fire behaviour and growth today,” said the BC Wildfire Service in an update dated July 8. “Wind and elevated fire behaviour are anticipated into this evening.
“Cooler temperatures will briefly return by the end of the week, but no appreciable rain is expected in the short-term forecast.”
