Winter is back: It's going to be –8°C in Vancouver on Monday

After what has been a relatively mild winter in Vancouver thus far, it seems that Old Man Winter has finally decided to pay our city a visit next week.

And, according to Environment Canada, he’ll be making up for lost time.

How, you ask?

Consider this: In addition to the snow that’s in the forecast this weekend, overnight temperatures on Monday are forecast to dip well below the freezing mark to a frigid –8°C.

But it doesn’t end there.

Daytime temperatures during the week aren’t forecast to rise more than a couple of degrees above freezing, while Tuesday and Wednesday will bring overnight temperatures of –7°C and –6°C, respectively.

Oh, also, snow is in the forecast for Wednesday.

So while Friday’s sunshine may be a welcome sight heading into the weekend, it looks like the milder temperatures we’ve been enjoying as of late will be leaving our city, for at least the next few days.

Bundle up, Vancouver! It’s about to get cold!
