Vancouver Fireworks Permit, 2009

Dec 19 2017, 11:53 am

This year is the second year in which an individual will need a permit to light off fireworks at their home in Vancouver. It takes 5 minutes to get the permit so make sure you apply for one otherwise you will be fined by the cops. If you reside in Surrey you to will be able to get a permit this year.

This is only for fireworks and not firecrackers, which are illegal.

Here are the steps in obtaining a fireworks permit as listed by the City Of Vancouver.

How to get a fireworks permit:

  • Go to the website vancouver.ca/fire and follow the directions or call 604.873.7593.
  • Permits are free, but you must successfully complete a fireworks safety test to acquire one.
  • You may get a permit anytime during the year.
Fireworks may only be purchased from October 25 to October 31. They may only be discharged on October 31.
  • You must show ID and your permit each time you purchase fireworks and carry both when you use fireworks.

Remember people don’t be an asshat when it comes to fireworks safety.
