Vancouver Firefighters’ umbrella campaign - “We've Got You Covered”

Dec 19 2017, 8:36 pm

November 6 marks the launch of the Vancouver Firefighters’ Charitable Society’s Umbrella Day, a day that will see over 200 firefighters throughout Vancouver selling VFCS branded umbrellas for $10 at all major intersections of downtown Vancouver.

The main tent will be located at the corner of Granville and West Georgia as well as all corners of the Burrard, Granville, Waterfront and City Centre train stations.

The event, which takes place from 7:30 to 10 a.m., will benefit the VFCS’s Snacks Program and the Community First Foundation’s (CFF) Backpack Buddies Program – two programs that provide snacks and meals for children in need to take home over the weekend when they are not at school.

All of the funds raised by the VFCS’s Umbrella Campaign will go to alleviate weekend hunger for the most vulnerable children in Vancouver’s inner city schools.

Those who purchase an umbrella from the VFCS on November 6 will not only be helping support children in need, but also acquiring a remarkably functional accessory, even more so as the rainiest months in Vancouver approach.

So come Thursday, be sure to look out for the VFCS’s tents, buy an umbrella and support this worthy cause.
