What: Canada’s premiere lifestyle trade show is a B2B marketplace where the top names in lifestyle fashion brands unveil their seasonal products to Canadian retailers. Entering its 14th year, visitors can expect hundreds of unique retailers, as well as both preeminent and emerging brands. Retailers will also have a chance to spectate the season’s latest trends, styles, and products.

This year’s edition of KNOWSHOW will feature over 260 brands, a KNOWHOW mini-conference, and a number of opportunities to network and connect with industry leaders and style-makers. KNOWSHOW is an exclusive event to those working in the industry, and as such, priority attendance is given to retailers, who will be able to attend for free. Non-retailers in the industry will have the opportunity to apply and can attend the event for $150.

Reel Big Fish

What: California ska-punk band Reel Big Fish bring their Life Sucks… Let’s Dance! Tour to Vancouver with guests MEST and Bikini Trill.

Free Yoga at Gateway Theatre

Throwdown International TheatreSports Festival at Vancouver TheatreSports

What: Vancouver TheatreSports welcomes TheatreSports welcomes teams from other cities who bring their A-Game to head-to head matches with each other and local teams comprised of VTS’s top improvisers. The visiting line-up features SAK Comedy Lab (Orlando, Florida), Curious Comedy Theatre (Portland, Oregon), On the Spot Improv (Honolulu,Hawaii) and Ryan Stiles’ company Upfront Theatre (Bellingham, WA).

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge 2018

What: Thousands of sparkling lights will illuminate the iconic suspension bridge and other areas of the park. The 30-ton Douglas Firs of the Treetops Adventure will also be dressed in lights. Standing at an impressive 110 feet above the forest floor, the Douglas Firs that connect the suspension bridges are the eight tallest Christmas trees in the world, according to event organizers. Also returning to this year’s festival is the Snowy Owl prowl, gingerbread cookie decorating, and sing-along carols with a holiday band.

Beyond Inclusion, a public talk with Michèle Stephenson

What: The UBC School of Journalism presents a public talk by Asper visiting professor Michèle Stephenson. In the talk, Stephenson muses on how her personal life experiences have shaped not only the art or work she does or how she sees the world, but how they have required her to be accountable for her actions — conscious or not.
