40 Days and 40 Nights

  • What: The project was inspired by a challenge to live for 40 days and 40 nights making all choices based in love, and draws on the magical poetry of Hafez, the philosophy of Alain Badiou, Hindu festivals, Biblical tales, and countless other ruminations on the word “love.” This immersive theatrical experience inspires you to believe, even for a moment, that love is something active and alive in the world. Presented by Electric Theatre Company.

Women in the Spotlight Dinner featuring Karina LeBlanc

  • What: Karina LeBlanc is a two time Olympic Canadian soccer player, bronze medalist, motivational speaker, media host and humanitarian. She shares her stories at the Women in the Spotlight Dinner.

Vancouver Chamber Players Tchaikovsky: Souvenir de Florence

Hycroft Mansion at 1489 McRae Avenue in Shaughnessy. Today this is home to the University Women’s Club of Vancouver, but in 1924 it was the home of General AD McRae.

  • What: The Vancouver Chamber Players are a group of professional musicians who search out and play unjustly neglected works of the classical chamber music repertoire. For over sixteen seasons, they have been rediscovering and performing truly wonderful “treasures” of the past – many of which have not been heard in North America.
