Urban Grind 2018 at Harbour Centre

  • What: The 633-step climb is opened annually to the public in March. Participants can make the climb once a week, on March 6, 13, 20, and 27 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. There’s a $5 entry fee to participate as many times as you wish during the day and upon reaching the top, participants receive a free beer and a $5 voucher for Harbour Centre’s food court.

Healthy Kids Fair

Anti-Bullying Flash Mob 2018

  • What: The flash mob is meant to raise awareness for the anti-bullying initiative and help people understand the importance of standing up against bullying no matter what form – physical, verbal, cyber or social. Students from both Delta and Surrey will be taking part in the event. They will be joined by BC Lions running back, Tyler Davis, as well as the team mascot, Leo the Lion.

Speaker Series: Why We Need To Talk About Poo

  • What: Dr. Paul Richard will look into what is wrong with our current methods of handling human waste from the bad design of toilets and washrooms, all the way to how current sewage practices pollute our environment. He’ll also explore its biology – how it can be a good indicator of health or disease – with a side trip into the world of microbiome concepts and fecal transplants.
