Free Roberts Bank Tour: The Container Trail 2019

What: Visitors will be taken on a driving tour through the container depots and logistics warehouses in Delta’s Tilbury Industrial Park, Port Authority’s Deltaport Truck Staging Area, Tsawwassen Container Examination Facility, and Delta iPort Logistics Centre. The tour will then end with a visit of Roberts Bank, where Canada’s busiest coal export facility and Canada’s largest container terminal are located. This includes an opportunity to get off the tour bus for an up-close look at container ships being loaded and unloaded at GCT Deltaport container terminal, which alone is 210 acres in size. Each tour takes about two hours and does not require any walking.

What: New Mexico indie rockers Beirut are on tour to support their latest album, Gallipoli. Featuring guest Helado Negro, with $1 from every ticket going to support Sistema Toronto who provides musical and intellectual opportunities to children in vulnerable communities.

Spade Movie Nights: 112 Weddings

What: Spade and Hoovie present the first in a series of Movie Nights. For the first screening, they’re showing 112 Weddings, a documentary about marriage, partnership and life after the “I do.”

CRAFT Beer Market Brewmaster’s Dinner with Mariner Brewing

What: Join Coquitlam’s Mariner Brewing & CRAFT Beer Market Vancouver for a collaboration dinner. Ticket includes a welcome beer & amuse bouche followed by four custom-created courses each paired with a Mariner brew. Children of God

What: Children of God is a musical about an Oji-Cree family whose children were taken away to a residential school in Northern Ontario. The story of Rita, a mother who was never let past the school’s gate, and her kids, Tom and Julia, who never knew she came, pushes toward redemption. Written by Oji-Cree theatre maker Corey Payette.

Beer and Film Night – With Patagonia and Old Yale Brewing Co.

What: In partnership with Patagonia and Old Yale Brewing, Mt. Waddington’s Outdoors is bringing the premiere of Mountain of Storms to Chilliwack.  In 1968, five friends took a road trip to climb Cerro Fitz Roy, and documented the whole thing on a 16mm Bolex.
