Thursday is the new Friday, especially with Westward Music Festival, The Price Is Right Live, and more happening today! Here are seven events to check out today, September 12, 2019.

Westward Music Festival 2019

What: The third-annual festival will be taking over downtown Vancouver with concerts by local and international acts. Artists this year include from Japanese rapper/producer Joji, Vancouver’s very own Black Mountain, and indie rockers The Paper Kites from Australia.

Westward Music Festival has also partnered up with the Yaletown BIA to include three free outdoor stages alongside a beer garden, food and local vendors for local residents to enjoy. One of these stages will be hosted by Music BC and showcase local emerging artists.

The North Face Agency Sample Sale

What: The North Face Agency Sample Sale is a biannual event featuring a minimum 50% off all men’s, women’s and youth apparel, equipment and footwear. Limited sample sizing and all sales are final. Cash, credit, and debit are accepted.

Vancity Street Collective Exhibit

What: The Vancity Street Collective hosts its inaugural exhibit from September 12 to 15 at The Beaumont Studios. Featuring work from many Vancouver street photographers, as well as an opening night party and workshops.

The Price is Right Live

What: The live edition of one of North America’s longest-running game shows is coming to Vancouver and you could be their next contestant. This September, The Price is Right Live will be coming to Hard Rock Casino for several live shows. Contestants will get the chance to play games like Plinko, Cliffhangers, The Big Wheel, and the fabulous Showcase. Contestants can win cash, appliances, vacations, and possibly even a new car.

A Thousand Splendid Suns

What: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Ursula Rani Sarma is based on the book by Khaled Hosseini. Set in war-torn Afghanistan, A Thousand Splendid Suns tells the story of the unlikely but extraordinary friendship of Laila and Mariam.

Mooncake Pop-up Colette Grand Café

What: Holt Renfrew’s Colette Grand Café will be hosting a special mooncake pop-up from September 3 to 13. The downtown spot will offer a custom collection of mooncakes in Colette Grand Café boxes including flavours like Matcha, Earl Grey, Rose, and Black Sesame.
