  • What: The two-hour event is set to feature a variety of activities, talks from keynote speakers, a panel of women from diverse professions, a silent auction, appetizers, photos, and more in the stunning West Georgia Street high-rise. YWiB is collaborating with some of the best UBC female clubs, including Equal Voice, Women in Science, Her Campus, and SisuGirls to make this event the largest and most interactive International Women’s Day event in Vancouver and UBC alone.

Influential Women in Business

Sparks! Book Launch!

  • What: Join author Ian Boothby, artist Nina Matsumoto and colourist David Dedrick for the launch of Scholastic’s new graphic novel, Sparks! Best known for their Eisner Award winning work on The Simpsons comic, Ian and Nina will be talking about their new book as well as directing people towards snacks.

International Women’s Day at Vancouver TheatreSports

  • What: Vancouver TheatreSports is celebrating International Women’s Day with all female casts for the evening’s performances. Furthermore, the 9:15 pm #NoFilter show will be free for all those who identify as women. Tickets will be available in person at the box office on March 8 starting at 6 pm, based on availability. Seats cannot be reserved in advance, and are available on a first-come basis at the door.
