  • What: Between October 1 and 17, a wide range of cultural events will be taking place at various locations in the tri cities. This includes everything from a free Diwali-themed art workshop, to a South Asian cooking class, and a massive performance at Vancouver Public Library.

Definitely Dalí at the Oakridge Centre

  • What: The bustling, colourful market is filled with local artists and artisan food vendors selling their own creations. And you can hear local musicians performing live, too.
  • When: Now until Sunday, October 1, 2017
  • Time: 9:30 am to 7 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays, 9:30 am to 9 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 11 am to 6 pm on Sundays

An Evening with Feist 2017

  • What: Canadian singer-songwriter Feist is hitting up Vancouver for two shows: at the Vogue Theatre on October 1, and at the Commodore Ballroom on October 2. You can expect to hear songs like ‘Any Party’, ‘Baby Be Simple’, ‘The Wild’, ‘Lost Dreams’, ‘Young Up’, and more during Feist’s October concerts.
  • When: October 1 (Vogue Theatre) and October 2 (Commodore Ballroom)

YYoga Free Day 2017 

  • What: YYoga is celebrating its 10th anniversary by offering free classes at all studios on Sunday, October 1. Yogis can enjoy YYoga’s wide range of classes including meditation and TRX workouts. An additional anniversary celebration event will take place at YYoga’s flagship Downtown Vancouver Flow studio on October 20.

Taves Family Farms Apple Barn

  • What: Make a stop at this family-run farm for a pumpkin patch adventure in the Abbotsford countryside.
  • When: October 1 to 31
  • Time: Now to Thanksgiving Weekend: 9 am to 5:30 pm. October 10 to 30: 9 am to 5:30 pm (Sunday to Wednesday), 9 am to 6:30 pm (Thursday to Saturday). October 31: 9 am to 5pm
  • Where: 333 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford
  • Cost: Admission is free for the apple orchard and pumpkin patch. Various rates apply for other attractions. Check website for details.

Art in the City

  • What: Art in the City is a two-day self guided art tour, offering a behind the scenes look into Surrey’s art scene. With over thirty participating artists and artisans, pique your interest with a glimpse into Surrey’s diverse art scene. Learn a new craft with artist-hosted workshops, or wander through artists’ collections in the galleries. The event runs in conjunction with the nation-wide Culture Days imitative to celebrate art, artists, and artisans right here in Surrey.

Feast on the Fraser

  • What: Feast on the Fraser is back this fall for ten days of food-filled fun in New Westminster. Taking place from September 22 until October 1, this event offers everything from longtable dinners to cultural tastings and everything in between. Feast on the Fraser was created to show people the best of what New West has to offer – from food to fun, this schedule is packed with exciting culinary events.

Claude Monet’s Secret Garden exhibit

  • What: It’s your last chance to see the greatest works of a famous French painter right here in Vancouver. Claude Monet’s Secret Garden exhibit at the Vancouver Art Gallery features a whopping 38 paintings from his epic collection of the Musée Marmottan Monet, Paris. By looking at them you’ll be taken on his artistic journey throughout the Parisian countryside and views of the River Thames.

Nickelback

  • What: Since forming in Alberta, in 1995, Nickelback sold over 50 million units and have more than 23 chart-topping hits. The band is touring in support of their ninth studio album Feed The Machine.

Interior Design Show Vancouver 2017

  • What: There will be artists, makers, design-centric brands, and more creatives coming together in Vancouver to showcase their current works, concepts, and products. Plus, you’ll also have the opportunity to hear from some of the design world’s most notable designers A definite highlight of the fair is designer Camille Walala, who will be speaking and showcasing her work at IDS Vancouver.
