What: Beer and cider lovers are invited to come to the PNE Fairgrounds on June 8 and 9 for the 10th annual year of good times, filled with music, food, art, and of course, tons of craft beer. This year’s festival-goers can expect 100+ craft breweries and cideries (pouring 300+ beverages), live music, buskers, and 20+ food trucks.

When: June 8 and June 9, 2019
Time: 2 to 7 pm (Saturday), 12 to 5 pm (Sunday)

Eco-Centre Open House

What: As part of Burnaby’s Environment Week, head to the City’s Eco-Centre Open House and learn about what they accept, where materials go, and help close the loop on Food Scraps Recycling by picking up a bag of free compost. Limit of 2 bags of compost per residential property (proof of Burnaby residency required). Limited supplies available, first come, first served.

Surrey Doors Open 2019

What: Surrey Doors Open is an annual one-day event for organizations to invite community members to “discover the story behind every door”. This free event at 27 venues offers fun activities for all ages, behind-the-scenes guided tours, entertainment, contests, prizes and more.

Eternal Theatre Collective presents: bare

What: Based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, “bare” is a contemporary pop opera about coming out and growing up. The story follows a group of students at a Catholic boarding school as they grapple with issues of sexuality, identity, and the future. “bare” is a provocative, fresh, and utterly honest look at the dangers of baring your soul, and the consequences of continuing to hide.

Steveston Wine Fest 2019

What: The sixth annual wine fest by O’Hare’s GastroPub & Liquor Store will feature over 80 boutique wines from local and international wineries, as well as delicious food samples from local Steveston Merchants. This year will have a focus on interesting and hard to find wines from BC and beyond. Part proceeds from this event go to The Richmond Christmas Fund and other local charities.

NOSH Foodie Fest

What: NOSH Foodie Fest is a weekly, food-centric event taking place in the parking lot at Capilano Mall every Saturday in June. This free to attend event centred around food truck-hopping will tempt one’s taste buds, fill one’s belly, and no doubt put all foodies into a legit food coma. Rounding out the tantalizing event menu will be other activities including the “PB & Jam” DJ Booth and “There’s A Little Something On Your Face” Face Painting Station.

Paella and Rosé Patio Party

What: Ancora will be hosting al-fresco events at both of its locations on June 8 that will feature paella and six different kinds of rosé. Both the False Creek and Ambleside restaurants will offer patrons a spread of Peruvian-style seafood paella and Mediterranean-inspired tapas on their patios.
