What: Vancouver’s most stylish day of horse racing, The Deighton Cup is returning to the city for its 11 year — and it’s better than ever. The fan favourite event — happening July 20 at Hastings Racecourse — is so much more than racing. This day at the races for a younger generation is a mashup of cocktails, music art and style. There are eight horse races to enjoy and bet on, derby lunch offerings from Earls Restaurants, a chance to be named the Style Stakes “Best Dressed,” access to interactive leisure sports and cigar lounge, live music, and DJs.

CAN Relay 4 Autism
What: The first-ever CAN Relay 4 Autism invites families, supporters and the general public to walk, run or wheel around the Swangard Stadium track in support of Canucks Autism Network. Dress up in 80s attire, your favourite costume or come as you are. The free family-friendly outdoor event will also feature carnival games, bouncy castles, food trucks, music and a vendor marketplace.

Red Truck Beer’s 2019 Truck Stop Concert Series
What: These popular events offer attendees killer tunes and, of course, local craft beer from the brewery. Pair this with food trucks and good vibes, and attending these shindigs is a no-brainer. July 20 is headlined by Devin Dawson alongside Becca Hess, The Matinee, and more.

Uptown Live 2019
What: Get your dance shoes on, bring your friends and family and spend a full day of fun with live performances, food trucks, interactive activities, art installations, artisan vendors and more. Four main musical stages will feature the best of BC’s thriving indie music scene. This year’s headliner is New West’s very own Chris Buck Band.

Kirby’s Dream Band, The Runaway Four, The Wavebirds
What: An evening of live video game music with Kirby’s Dream Band and The Runaway Four, plus local geeky ska punk from The Wavebirds.

The Brick Bar – Vancouver

What: The Brick Bar, the first bar of its kind, is happening at The Anza Club. The bar will consist of over one million blocks, and will feature sculptures made completely from LEGO bricks. When you stop in, you’ll be able to partake in building competitions (for prizes), a table tennis competition (played on a LEGO built table with over 22,000 bricks), and so much more. There will also be an Instagram-worthy menu, with a “Brick Burger” and cocktails.
In addition to the pre-made sculptures, you’ll be able to assemble your own creations too. Plus, there will be local DJs, bartenders, and LEGO-themed eats. Tickets are sold on a first-come-first-serve basis, and extremely limited, so get them while you can.

Ultimate Car Show 2019
What: Hard Rock Casino is hosting their 5th Annual Ultimate Car Show, in partnership with 360 Fabrication Inc. The free all-ages event features live entertainment throughout the day with the Ultimate Tribute to Bryan Adams, performed by Reckless.
