Whistler Village Beer Festival 2019

Tourism Whistler/Mike Crane

What: The Whistler Village Beer Festival features over 70 breweries and more than 140 craft beers and ciders, food trucks, and plenty of live music. There will also be food pairing dinners, unique cask nights, beer yoga, forged axe throwing, and a two-day main event at Whistler Olympic Plaza.

New Play Festival

What: Arts Club’s New Play Festival features free live public readings of new scripts by Canadian actors, directors, dramaturgs, and playwrights. Audience members are invited to take part in a discussion with the artists after each reading.

Vancouver Fringe Bar

What: For the 11 days of the Vancouver Fringe, the Phillips Fringe Bar features a variety of local bands and artists each night. Acts include the Annual Fringe Festival Ceilidh with Alison Moen and Kilbirnie Station on September 9, and Rae Spoon on September 12.

What: Splendiferous Theatre creators Joanna Rannelli and Cecilia Davis present The Most Massive Woman Wins by Madeleine George at the 2019 Vancouver Fringe. Audiences will explore the inner psyche of four different sized women as they share painful pasts and present predicaments in an often comedic manner.

Reconciliation In Canada: A Non-Partisan Affair

What: SFU presents the 2019 Grace Macinnis Visiting Scholar Lecture by Dr. Marie Wilson, who will reflect on the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada that she was a commissioner on from 2009 to 2015.

Meet (Y)our City: Vancouver Mural Walking Tour and Social

What: Vancouver Mural Festival and CityHive host a walking tour exploring Mount Pleasant murals. The guided tour will last about 1.5 hours, and features many behind-the-scenes stories. Afterwards there will be a social event with food and drinks.
