Jann Arden

What: The much-celebrated artist catapulted onto the Canadian music scene in 1993 with her debut album “Time for Mercy”, featuring the hit single “I Would Die for You”.  Just one year later with “Living Under June”, she had her career breakout hit, “Insensitive”, that solidified her position in the music world.  Her most recent album “These Are the Days” hit the shelves in March of 2018.

Glow Christmas

What: Glow Christmas brightens up Langley’s Milner Village Garden Centre with over 500,000 lights spanning 103,000-sq-ft of holiday magic. The display will feature four different light gardens, food trucks (and bar!), over 40 vendors, and – the cherry on top – a 210-foot musical light tunnel.

When: Select dates to January 19, 2019

Polyamorous: Living and Loving More by Jenny Yuen

What: Polyamourous author Jenny Yuen will do a reading and Q&A with freelance journalist Niko Bell, followed by a signing and meet-and-greet. Copies of Polyamorous will be available for sale from Pulp Fiction Books.

Sea of Lights

Scuba Claus/Vancouver Aquarium

What: Immerse yourself in a Sea of Lights at the Vancouver Aquarium. Watch Scuba Claus dive daily in the Strait of Georgia habitat until December 24. Enjoy the wave of childlike wonder as you watch Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in the 4-D theatre. Marvel at Vancouver’s most shocking holiday display as you stand in the glow of the Electric eel-powered Christmas tree in the Teck Connections Gallery. And delight in the magic of the season as you watch the enchanting jelly snow globe display in the Tropics Gallery.

Douglas College Fall 2018 Concert Series

What: The Douglas College Music Department presents the Fall 2018 Concert Series. Featuring An Evening of Big Band Jazz and Zappa on November 26, Music for Winds, Brass and Percussion 0n November 28, and Student Composition Concert on November 30. Open to the public.

21st Annual European Union Film Festival

What: The Cinematheque’s annual celebration of new cinema from the European Union is presented with the Vancouver consulates and the Ottawa embassies of the member states of the European Union and the Delegation of the European Union to Canada. This year’s festival showcases entries from 26 EU members.
