Big pop-up celebrating small creators coming to North Vancouver for May long weekend

Clear your long-weekend plans, because Vancouver Etsy Co. just announced their spring pop-up market running from Saturday, May 17 to Sunday, May 18 at the Pipe Shop.

From gorgeous ceramics to cozy home goods, stylish jewelry and apparel to soothing body care and more, these businesses have been hand-picked for the event and feature the best made-in or designed-in-Canada products you can get.

Platforming over 70 incredible local businesses across B.C., this pop up will also feature some “mini-makers” — that’s kid entrepreneurs ages 16 and under who’ve got a bright future ahead of them!

Celebrating the success of their February pop up, Vancouver Etsy Co. is dedicating a section of this event to celebrate businesses that are “too cute,” back by popular demand.

There will also be exquisite eats and scrumptious sips to help fuel your shopping. Brewing on-site will be Slothee Coffee, which you can pair with a soft and chewy cookie from Bak’d cookies.

As if you didn’t need another reason to shop, if you make three purchases with any vendor, you’ll be entered to win an awesome prize package. Plus, the first 50 attendees on each day will get a limited-edition tote bag, along with some market cash to spend at your favorite vendor.

There’s more to do at a Vancouver Etsy Co. pop up than just shop. On the Saturday, you can get some puppy love from the Boston terrier-chihuahua mascot, Penny, and support the BC SPCA.

Want a custom memento of the day? Head to the DIY button-making station to take part in crafting something memorable for yourself. Don’t forget to snap a pic on Sunday  with a take home print from Mint & Prints Photo booth!

While Vancouver Etsy Co. is affiliated with Etsy, vendors selected to be part of this pop up aren’t necessarily all Etsy shops. The collective is committed to quality over quantity, supporting local businesses looking to take their products to the next level.

But Vancouver Etsy Co.’s commitment to community goes beyond supporting local businesses. Since 2022, they’ve donated over $22,000 to local nonprofits, donating to charities like Dress for Success Vancouver, Greater Vancouver Food Bank, and BabyGoRound.

This event is no different, as 50 per cent of the proceeds from the spring pop up are going to Mom2Mom Child Poverty Initiative & Renfrew-Collingwood Seniors Society.
