Vancouver drummer to represents Canada at Roland V-Drums World Championship

Vancouver native, Issah Contractor, wowed the Montreal Drum Fest crowd with a tremendous performance at the 4th Roland V-Drums Contest National Finals event.

Issah’s expressive drum solo showcased his dynamic range and impressive technical abilities, which brought him First Place, a top-of-the-line Roland TD-30KV V-Drums Kit, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Frankfurt, Germany next March to represent Canada at the Roland V-Drums World Championship!

Auditions were held over a one week period in cities across Canada. After hundreds of entries and hours of judging by an expert panel of judges, one drummer from the East and one drummer from the West were selected to perform onstage at Montreal Drum Fest – 20th Anniversary Edition. Issah Contractor, who auditioned at Long & McQuade Langley, was chosen the Western Finalist based on the originality, creativity and technical skill of his performance.

Issah graced the Montreal Drum Fest stage at the 3rd Roland V-Drums Contest National Finals, and returned for another chance at the Grand Championship. Along with his drumming prowess, Issah also picks up the bass, and is involved with session gigs on both bass and drums for a variety of artists in contrasting styles. Whether Jazz, Reggae or Metal, Issah finds a way to express an emotion that is heartfelt and true to the spirit of the genre.

Auditions for the 5th Roland V-Drums Contest will begin summer 2013. Visit for contest details and audition dates in your area.
