Violent crime is down in Vancouver

Dec 19 2017, 4:27 pm

If it feels like violent crime in Vancouver is down, it’s because it has been dropping. Vancouver Police have been working on targeting organized crime and gangs, much of which has moved to Surrey and Abbotsford.

According to News 1130, programs like Bar Watch and Restaurant Watch are just some of the initiatives that Vancouver Police has taken to make it uncomfortable for the criminal element to hang out in Vancouver.

Violent crime includes homicides, stabbings, robberies, attempted murders, assaults and sexual assaults. All of these have been on the decline since 2006.
