Comedy Waste 2017

  • What: Comedy Waste presents Jokes Please!, Blind Tiger Comedy, Proud of You, Instant Theatre and the Sunday Service in this year’s festival. Part of Music Waste 2017.
  • Where: Various venues across Vancouver
  • When: June 1 to 4
  • Tickets: At the door, $5-$10, free with Music Waste pass

SiriusXM Top Comic Auditions

  • What: Thirty comics go mic-to-mic in front of a live audience for the chance to become SiriusXM’s Top Comic and land a $25,000 grand prize. Hosted by Ben Miner.
  • Where: The Comedy Mix (1015 Burrard Street, Vancouver) and Yuk Yuks (2837 Cambie Street, Vancouver)
  • When: June 6 and 7

Surprise Me – A Comedy Show Fundraiser!

  • What: A comedy fundraiser for Rainbow Railroad, who support, provide information, and help to arrange safe transportation for LGBTQ people looking to escape violence and persecution. Featuring Christine Bortolin, Nima Gholamipour, Sean Devlin, Spencer Lindsay and more.

  • What: Trae Crowder {The Liberal Redneck}, Drew Morgan and Corey Ryan Forrester are Southern Born comedy and writing partners who are touring nationally in support of their book, Liberal Redneck Manifesto: Draggin Dixie Outta the Dark.

Shakespeare After Dark – The Anniversary Show!

  • What: Shakespeare After Dark is the highbrow fusion of Shakespeare served with a side of improvisational mischief. Featuring live swordplay from An Affair of Honour, live music from our improvising Shakespeare band, and more surprises.

The SuperDad Show

  • What: Join Vancouver TheatreSports League on Father’s Day  for SuperDad – a special show in celebration of a special guy – your dad. The SuperDad Show pokes fun at all the foibles and complexities of what it means to be a father today.

  • What: Having been named one of Rolling Stone’s “50 Funniest People,” and Variety’s “Top 10 Comics To Watch,” Michael Che is quickly leaving his mark on the media landscape. Che is currently the co-anchor of Saturday Night Live’s iconic “Weekend Update” segment where he is also a staff writer for the show. He also recently released his first hour-long stand-up special on Netflix.

Improv X Canada aka Maple Madness! (Pt. 2)

  • What: The Fictionals and Friends are celebrating Canada 150 on June 27 at Cafe Deux Soleils with Maple Mayhem. Improv X Canada will be inspired by the newsmakers, sights and history of this great country for a night of comedy.

Tragedy + Time Served = Comedy, Pre Fringe Edition

  • What: Tragedy + Time Served = Comedy is a storytelling show which shines a light on the path from Mark Hughes’s dark and grim past of street life, addiction, and prison, using introspective and playful tools gleaned from doing stand-up comedy.
