Throwdown International TheatreSports Festival at Vancouver TheatreSports

What: Vancouver TheatreSports welcomes TheatreSports welcomes teams from other cities who bring their A-Game to head-to head matches with each other and local teams comprised of VTS’s top improvisers. The visiting line-up features SAK Comedy Lab (Orlando, Florida), Curious Comedy Theatre (Portland, Oregon), On the Spot Improv (Honolulu,Hawaii) and Ryan Stiles’ company Upfront Theatre (Bellingham, WA).

Pop-Up Comedy Jam with stand-up guest Danika Thibault

What: The Fictionals Comedy Co. welcome Danika Thibault to the Improv and Stand-Up Mashup at Cafe Deux Soleils. The evening features improv games inspired by audience suggestions, plus comedy surprises in Best of Both Worlds.

Unscriptured: Expanded Edition

What: Unscriptured is the completely improvised church service for a religion made up on the spot — all based on an audience suggestion. Formerly a one man show, this new expanded version features a choir, live music, and “guest preachers” from around the Vancouver comedy community. Created and hosted by Travis Bernhardt, winner of 2018 Vancouver Pick of the Fringe.

Judge John Hodgman with guest Louise Burns

What: Judge John Hodgman is a podcast where actor and comedian John Hodgman decides real personal disputes. Featuring special guest Louise Burns.

Jest Ladies Comedy

What: Fraser Valley Comedy presents Jest Ladies Comedy hosted by Nic Enright-Morin. Nic Enright-Morin is a freelance writer, editor and comic who performs comedy all over BC, as well as in the UK. She also wrote and produced the interactive comedy play “Aunt Biddy’s Wake”and is a stand-up comedy instructor at LaughterZone 101. Featuring special performances by Yumi Nagashima, Syd Bosel, Lisa Person, Katrina Bennett, Lydia Rickards, Monique Naicker-Bellamy, Alison Ogilvie, Marlene Swidzinski and Ericka Young.

Jeremy Hotz

What: Canadian comedian Jeremy Hotz brings his Dangerously Handsome Tour to Vancouver with special guest Matt Molchen. Jeremy is a multiple Gemini nominee, was a former writer on The Jon Stewart show, and has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Show with David Letterman.

Smash Comedy Festival

What: Produced by Nasty Women Comedy, the inaugural Smash Comedy Festival is a three-day comedy festival spotlighting Vancouver’s best and brightest women/trans/femme/plus performers. Featuring sketch, improv and stand-up shows, writing and improv workshops, and a 90s dance party. Funds go towards sending underrepresented kids to Improv Camp for the upcoming 2019 season.

What: Comedian and actress Arden Myrin is currently a cast member on the new Netflix show Insatiable playing the role of Regina Sinclair. Recently, Arden was a cast member on Showtime’s Shameless Season 7 playing the part of Dollface Dolores. She appeared on Chelsea Lately over 100 times, and was a regular panelist on @Midnight. She was a cast member of MadTV for the final four seasons, and is the host of the popular Nerdist podcast Will You Accept This Rose? About The Bachelor/ The Bachelorette franchise.
