As the weather gets colder, the mics get hotter! Add some laughs to your winter nights with a stand-up, improv, or variety shows around Vancouver.

Here are 10 great comedy events taking place around the city this December.

What: Greg Proops is best known for his appearances on Whose Line is it Anyway? and his Proopcast The Smartest Man in the World. He has also lent his voice to Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and was Bob the Builder.

What: Off Key performs original musicals based on audience suggestions. The catch? The script, lyrics, and music are all improvised on the spot. Every show is completely different, so come inspire the players and musicians, and witness the opening (and closing) night of a brand new musical.

Instant Theatre

What: A high-ocatane, action packed Christmas show. Rogue Cop pays homage to Die Hard, a Christmas Carol, and your favourite holiday flicks with fewer toys and more explosions.
