Vancouver Christmas Market, one of the city’s signature seasonal events, opens this week at Jack Poole Plaza for its 10th anniversary. The holiday tradition runs from November 20 to December 24, with extended holiday hours (11:30 am to 9:30 pm) for all who attend.

The market is even open on Christmas Eve until 6 pm!

The authentic German market makes for a perfect date night, with more than 80 huts of authentic German sweets, treats, and treasures to explore. Invite that special someone to enjoy more than 55,000 square feet packed with festive activities and live entertainment.

Warm things up by walking through Lovers’ Lane featuring 20,000 sparkling lights, mistletoe, and a “love lock” installation. Then go for a magical ride on downtown Vancouver’s only Christmas carousel.

Then treat yourself to one of Vancouver Christmas Market’s tasty food and drink offerings, including Glühwein (a hot-spiced mulled wine), German Bratwurst, Schweinshaxe, Waffles, Schnitzel, Perogies, Strudels, Lángos, Transylvanian Chimney Cakes, poffertjes and aebleskivers, a selection of German beer, wine and cider, Kaffee schnapps, and more.

As well as all these delicious treats, Vancouver Christmas Market also serves up live entertainment from the Flying Stage on the second storey of the Christmas Pyramid. Sing along to holiday classics from 4:30 to 9:30 pm on weekdays, and 12 to 9:30 pm on weekends.

Make sure to also visit the stunning Walk-In Christmas Tree, with over 36,000 beautiful lights and new glowing gifts for that perfect date at the “Winterdeck.”
