FEATURED EVENTS IN VANCOUVER
A Future for Memory: Art and Life After the Great East Japan Earthquake, February 11 to September 5, 2021
One of Vancouver’s most popular Christmas attractions is returning to Jack Poole Plaza this holiday season.
The Vancouver Christmas Market kicks off on November 21 until December 24. This year, attendees will be able to enjoy extended hours from 11:30 am to 9:30 pm.
Guests will be able to wander through more than 55,000 square feet of German jubilation with quaint huts featuring over 80 vendors, ride the stunning Christmas carousel, and marvel at the Christmas Pyramid’s ‘Flying Stage’ perched above the market.
“Every season, families, couples, and friends make their annual pilgrimage to feast upon festive delights, warm themselves with mulled wine, shop for unique treasures, and share the Christmas cheer,” said Malte Kluetz, founder and president of the Vancouver Christmas Market, in a release.
“This year, we are thrilled to present even more engaging holiday experiences for visitors of all ages to create lasting memories with their loved ones.
The 2018 expanded highlights include a cozy heated Alpine Lounge, where guests can relax and enjoy warm drinks in a cheery holiday environment.
Visitors will then be able to make their way outside to the Winterdeck located outside the Alpine Lounge. The Winterdeck will serve as the perfect Instagram spot, featuring a beautiful entrance arch, and a giant lit up picture-frame with stunning views of the North Shore.
Lovers’ Lane is another Instagram-worthy stop with a 30-foot long tunnel decorated with 10,000 sparkling lights and mistletoe.
A love lock installation will be located near the tunnel to serve as a symbol of love and partnership during the holiday season.
For younger visitors, Santa will be making an appearance in a 12-foot long sleigh floating under the Olympic Cauldron. Lastly, the market will be home to Canada’s first-ever Walk-In Christmas tree, glittering with 36,000 lights.
As always, the Vancouver Christmas Market will feature a wide array of mouth-watering treats including Glühwein (a hot-spiced mulled wine), German Bratwurst, Gulasch, Spätzle, Schnitzel, Strudels, Transylvanian Chimney Cakes, a selection of German beer, award-winning German-style wine, and much more.
Stroll the magical twinkling pathways of a European-inspired Christmas village in the crisp winter air. Tickets for the 2018 Vancouver Christmas Market are available to purchase online.
