This year is the year of The Ox and the Vancouver Chinese and non-Chinese community will be celebrating with the annual Chinese New Year Parade in Chinatown. The Ox is the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work. The parade will be held on Sunday February 1, 2009.
Chinese New Year is actually falls on January 26, 2009. Expect firecrackers and good food to be in abundance in Chinatown. Expect close to 100,000 spectators on hand to witness the Parade.

Where: Chinatown, the parade will commence at the Millennium Gate (on Pender)
When: Noon to 2:30
