Vancouver's stunning Cherry Blossom Festival returns Spring 2021

The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival (VCBF), one of the city’s most beloved annual events, is returning for Spring 2021.

It’s a celebration of the city’s gorgeous pink cherry trees and a welcome sight for winter-weary Vancouverites.

The month-long event typically takes place over the month of April and spans all of Metro Vancouver.

VCBF shows off nearly 40,000 trees, many of which originated as gifts from Japan. The festival looks to express the city’s gratitude while celebrating the beauty and joy that blows with the flowers.

Many of the festival’s programs will be held online this year, allowing participants to engage safely. Some events that are confirmed for 2021 include the Haiku Invitational, the BC Blossom Photo Watch, and Soundwalk Dance.

Although the cherry blossoms make for fantastic photos, please remember to be respectful when visiting the neighbourhoods and to practice physical distancing.
