If someone denies a bowl of pasta it’s for one reason only: they’re on a diet. No one dislikes pasta. It’s affordable, nutritious, versatile and delicious. Pasta nourishes body, soul and stomach.
Swirl it, twirl it or slurp it. It doesn’t matter how you chow down. Heck, inhale it. Just don’t spend more than you have to.
That’s where we come in. Vancity Buzz and Chowmenow have found some pasta meals in all shapes and sizes that won’t cost you more than $5. So grab your parmesan shaker and head out (you carry one in your bag too, right?).
Let’s mangia!
Bonchaz has lowered the price on all of their classic pastas like chicken penne alfredo and beefy marinara to just $4.95. Another bonus? With plenty of sweet treats on hand, you won’t have to go far for dessert.
The secret to a great meal? Double the cheese and double the carbs. For $4.90, you can chow on baked lasagna or spaghetti with house-made meat sauce topped with mozzarella and a slice of garlic bread. Papa, you’re the best.
Whoever replaced lettuce with noodles and still got away with calling it a salad may be our hero. If you feel like chilling out, opt for the basil pesto pasta salad at The Deli Family Gourmet. Egg noodles tossed with creamy homemade basil pesto, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion and red and yellow pepper for $4.79.
There are some things that need to be explained. Then there are some that don’t. This is one of them: Maple bacon gnocchi for $4.95.
If Papa took care of us, than you know Mama will. A blend of cheddar, mozzarella, alfredo, crispy cornflakes, and a thyme parmesan crust for $4.95, Mama T’s Crunchy Mac and Cheese is KD on steroids. We just have one question: Mama, are you looking to adopt?
How would you like all 5 of those pasta dishes for free?
