Vancouver Cheap Eats: Riley Park-Little Mountain

Dec 19 2017, 3:42 pm

When you think of Vancouver neighbourhoods, the usual suspects come to mind, like GastownCommercial, or Yaletown, Not many of us think about Riley Park. What’s it known for anyway? That’s what Vancity Buzz and Chowmenow went to find out. Sure, there’s Nat Bailey Stadium, but when we sauntered from 16th to 41st, we found a mecca of restaurants, bakeries, delis and coffee shops with quality and charm not to be missed.

Especially the cheap eats.

Au Petit Café

au petit

Au Petit is no stranger to cheap eat ninjas. If you still haven’t sunk your teeth into the delicious banh mi’s for $4 or less, we have nothing to say but this: it’s completely your fault.

Trilussa Pizza & Pane

Trilussa

For $3.95 or less, you can Chow on soppressata salami and mozzarella, salmon and organic salad, or tomato sauce, pesto, and fresh chillies. Did we mention these are the pizza toppings? For a couple quarters, you can order a larger slice for $5.50, butcher knife not included (hopefully).

Spice Up Indian Cuisine

Hit up Spice Up Indian Cuisine for samosas, pakoras, lentil soup, three types of naan and three types of dessert all for under $4.50.

Beefy Beef Noodle House

Beefy Beef Noodle

Who doesn’t love deep fried intestines and beef tripe for under $4? For the less adventurous, there are appetizers, soups, and dim sum with the same price tag. Our faves include the green onion pancake, chicken wings, and minced pork.

El Camino’s

El Caminos

On Tuesday, get 2 tacos for $5 all night. From buttermilk fried chicken, fried cod, to grilled flat iron steak, it’ll be worth the ride.
