Vancouver Cheap Eats: Lunch

Dec 19 2017, 6:07 pm

Lunch is an essential component of the day. Not only is it an important time to refuel and silence hunger pangs, but it’s also an excuse to escape the office and meet with friends.

For those on a $5 budget, lunch is prime dining hour, as many restaurants offer more affordable menus at noon. To see where you can stretch your $5, check out some mid-day meals Vancity Buzz and Chowmenow found in Vancouver.

The Locker Room Pub

Locker Room Pub

If you’re craving good ol’ pub food, The Locker Room has extended their $4.95 menu to lunchtime. Options include mini pulled pork tacos, a chicken snack wrap, veggie sandwich, and chicken strips.

Kessel&March

Kessel&March

We were very excited to learn about the new $5 lunch at Kessel&March! On Tuesdays their entire lunch menu drops to fit our budget, which means we can score calzones, quiches, or sandwich + soup combos all for an even five.

$2.85 Hamburger Food Cart

2.85 Burger

With a burger this good at that price, who needs a name? If Prince could go without one, so can they. Especially when we’re only paying $2.85 for a hamburger or $3.50 with cheese.

Address: Granville and West Pender Streets

The Noodle Box

Noodle Box

To celebrate the grand opening, The Noodle Box is serving everyone a free lunch at their new location in Mount Pleasant! Bring $5 to donate this Saturday and you can help a great cause in the process.

Ebi-Ten

Ebi Ten

If it’s a light lunch you’re looking for, Ebi-Ten serves mini Pork Teriyaki Bowls for $3.95 or two sushi rolls for $5.
