Vancouver Cheap Eats: Nice buns!

More often than not, our favourite go-to foods all have one thing in common: Buns. We’re talking about bread, of course. It’s perfect vehicle to make a meal portable.

Here are a few places in Vancouver serving great eats in buns, priced at $10 or less.

Bao Down

An Asian infused sandwich shop that specializes in serving excellent steamed bao, all street sandwiches here are $10 or less. The YVR is a must; for $7 its sesame seared albacore tuna, pea shoots, double smoked bacon, and avocado, dressed with wasabi mayo and sweet soy sauce served on a steamed bao.

An iconic Japanese style hotdog that needs no introduction. We’re all too familiar with the Terimayo, which has teriyaki sauce, mayo, and seaweed. There are plenty of unique variations to choose from that fall well under your budget. They’ve got a permanent location on Robson, but of course have several carts around Vancouver.
