Vancouver Cheap Eats: Food Trucks

DH Vancouver Staff Mar 24, 2017 4:07 am 1,580

Rather than boasting an extensive menu, food trucks specialize in a particular cuisine – one which they’ve mastered.

Popping up everywhere from markets and festivals to breweries and stadiums, here are five Vancouver food trucks where you can fill up on the go, all for $10 or less.

Need some morning motivation? Head to Yolks and order the classic Eggs Benedict, or switch it up with aged white cheddar and portobello mushroom. Starting at $7.50, this dish is worth waking up for.

Address: Burrard Street and West Pender Street, Vancouver

For just $8, indulge in Aussie Pie Guy’s hearty pies filled with your choice of beef, chicken, lamb or veggies. For $2 more, you can “make it epic” by adding mashed potatoes, mushy peas, and gravy. Cheers, mate!

Who can resist a gooey grilled cheese sandwich? Mom’s Grilled Cheese Truck dishes out some of the best in the city for $10 or less. Choose from Mom’s classics, or opt for a daily special like Mom’s Meatloaf or Mister Marley, an Indian style grilled cheese.

Via Tevere

Arguably the best pizza joint in the city, Via Tevere also serves Neapolitan street fare. Their wood fire sandwiches, or saltimboccas, are made with fresh and flavourful ingredients that will make your mouth water. For $9 each, prepare to be hooked.
