Vancouver Cheap Eats: Food Trucks

Dec 19 2017, 6:28 pm

When the sun is out and hunger strikes, there’s no better time to take to the streets and cruise food trucks for their latest specials. Though they don’t always meet Vancity Buzz and Chowmenow’s definition of affordable, we did find a few eats that accommodated our $5 budget. Check out where we chowed down this week!

Eat Chicken Wraps

Unfortunately we can’t Eat Chicken Wraps because they’re a little over our $5 budget. Thankfully they serve a beef hot dog for $5.

Dim Sum Express

Practically the entire menu is under $5. From chow mein to dumplings, we recommend grabbing your coworkers and each buying a dish to sample and share. Plus you can’t beat that view.

Okay, so technically it’s not a food truck. But it is on wheels, parked on the sidewalk, and serves rain or shine. Try an assortment of these famous dogs for $5 or less.

Arturo’s Mexico To Go

This truck is a great option for those who eat gluten-free. Although most items on their menu verge closer to $10, they often serve daily specials like the gluten-free Mexico City Taco for $3.

There are a ton of snacks, sandwiches, soups, and salads that are both delicious and $5. Try the Crispy Porky Bun, Famous Beet Fries, and Crack Salad the next time you take to the streets.
