Barbecue is a staple in the South, and few places do it better than in Memphis. Two Vancouverites fell in love with the cuisine on a layover in Memphis and decided to bring it back to Canada. If you’re in the mood for cheap pub food, head to a Gastown staple, The Cambie Bar & Grill. The mini BBQ pulled pork sandwich is available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for just $5. You could also opt for the Cambie Burger with either a beef, grilled chicken breast, or homemade veggie patty for $8.75.

Roll up your sleeves and get ready to devour the slow-cooked ribs at Black Forty. They serve up both half and full racks of ribs, great for sharing or eating solo. $10 will get you smoked pork dry ribs tossed with salt and pepper.
