Vancouver's massive Car Free Day takes over Main Street next month

It’s the biggest car-free day of the year, and next month it returns to Main Street!

Spread across 21 blocks with “mini festivals” along the route, the event features numerous activities, as well as performances on 15 different stages, and a wide variety of food vendors.

This year, there will be stage performances at the Biltmore Cabaret, skateboard demos and activities courtesy of Anti-Social Skateboards, and a street hockey tournament presented by Collingwood Community Police.

And of course, while the street is a popular thoroughfare for cars and trucks 364 days of the year, Sunday, June 17 will see the street completely closed to all vehicular traffic, including buses, which TransLink said will be rerouted.

Everyone is welcome to attend. The event kicks off at noon and runs through until 7 pm.
