8 Vancouver bars among Canada’s 50 Best in 2019

It’s been just over a month since Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants revealed its 2019 picks, and now the Best Bars list has been released too.

This is only the second year the list of Canada’s 50 Best Bars has been chosen, the annual list ranks the finest wine, beer, and cocktail lounges across the country.

While Ontario bars dominated the list this year again – Toronto’s Bar Raval held steady at number one on the list – there were eight BC bars in the top 50 for 2019.

All of the establishments are in Vancouver, including repeat-ranker The Keefer Bar in Chinatown, the highest BC spot on the list coming in at number two, the same place it held in 2018.

Prohibition, The Shameful Tiki Room, and Grapes & Soda were all present again on this year’s list, although their places in the ranking have shifted.

New additions to the roster this year include Fairmont Pacific Rim’s Botanist and Lobby Lounge (two separate listings) and The Cocktail Bar at Hawksworth.
