Vancouver Bike Share Program Includes 125 Helmet Vending Machines

Dec 19 2017, 1:55 pm

For those wondering if Vancouver’s bike share program will somehow try to get around the mandatory helmet law, forget about it. It was announced that  the bike share system will come equipped with 125 helmet vending machines. That is one for each station.

In case you’re wondering about helmet cleanliness, they will be steam cleaned after every use. The helmets will be one size fits all, so big and little headed people need not worry. However, a one size fits all doesn’t sound all that safe.

It should be noted that mandatory helmet laws have crippled bike share programs in other cities. Will Vancouver be the next victim?

Vancouver is already one of the better cycling cities in North America. The addition of a bike share program will only add to that reputation.
