Over 5,000 cyclists participate in Vancouver Bike Rave 2014 (PHOTOS)
More than a thousand Bike Rave participants decorated bicycles and cycled around the city Saturday night for what is touted as your “favourite annual glowtastic mobile dance party on wheels.”
A last minute route change, had over a thousand cyclists gather on the lawns outside of Science World to decorate and prepare their bikes for a glow stick lit, dance music fuelled, bicycle powered rave Saturday night. The route followed the Sea Wall along False Creek towards Stanley Park, finally ending at Crab Park in Gastown.
Beginning at 9PM from Science World, the rave lasted into the early hours of Sunday. Stops were scheduled along the way, under bridges or in parks where groups could reassemble and dance to an electronic dance music mix.
The mix that is streamed by many cyclists with portable sound systems is a custom five hour playlist that features many of Vancouver’s top electronic producers.
