Vancouver Asian Heritage Month Bao Bei $50 GC

Vancouver Asian Heritage Month is opening their 2011 festival with a bang (literally) with Beat the Street: Asian Drum Festival + Remix. The event takes place on May 1st, 2011 from 12 pm – 4:30 pm on the CBC Outdoor stage with a free, outdoor public event which features 4 groups of culturally diverse, musical art forms within Vancouver’s Asian communities. There will be Tetsu Taiko (Japanese Drumming), Kathara Canada (Filipino Dance, Drumming and Martial Arts), Cheondoong Performing Arts (Korean Drumming), and a traditional Persian Ensemble. Also playing throughout the day is an Arabic/Turkish group called Reyhan.
