O Christmas Tea: A British Comedy

What: When disaster strikes at James and Jamesy’s Christmas tea party, the friends find unique and comedic solutions to keep things going. The duo are three-time IMPRESARIO Award winners (London) and have been named Best of Fest (Orlando, Toronto, Winnipeg, Ottawa), Most Outstanding Show (London), Best Comedy (Victoria), Patrons’ Pick (London), and more.

The Tragic Comedy of Macbeth

What: Literary Larceny Collective presents The Tragic Comedy of Macbeth, with comedians, theatre performers and improvisers performing a comedic take on Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Directed by Bernard Cuffling and Gary Jones.

Holiday at the Elbow Room Café

Zee Zee Theatre / The Cultch

What: Zee Zee Theatre presents Holiday at the Elbow Room Cafe, inspired by and in tribute to the iconic cafe. The show features a mix of holiday classics and songs from Elbow Room Café: The Musical by Dave Deveau and Anton Lipovetsky. Written by Deveau and directed by Cameron Mackenzie, husbands and lifelong friends of Elbow Room Café owners Patrice Savoie and Bryan Searle.

Girlfriend

What: Fighting Chance Productions presents the Canadian premiere of the pop/rock musical Girlfriend, based on the titular album by Matthew Sweet. Social outcast Will and popular football player Mik eexplore their relationship and discover that there is more to life than what high school taught them.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

What: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Catch the musical at Gateway Theatre in December and sing along to the biblical story of Joseph, Jacob, and the coat of many colours.

Ellie King’s Snow White

What: Enjoy the tale of Snow White told in classic British Pantomime at Surrey Arts Centre. The interactive show is fun for the whole family, and written by Ellie King with music by Geoff King. Guests can also get autographs from the cast after the show.

Christmas Reprise XVII

What: The Vancouver Cantata Singers perform two Christmas Reprise XVII concerts on December 21. This year the program features a mix of traditional Christmas carols and modern holiday compositions for the unaccompanied choir.
