November 25, 2008 on this day the good folks of Amacon will be holding their annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at the Vancouver Art Gallery (VAG).
The lighting of the tree will take place between 5:50 -6:30pm, lets just hope the weather cooperates. This is the second year that we’ll see a large Christmas Tree in a prominent location a la Rockefeller Centre in New York. Hopefully the recent downturn in the economy won’t hamper festivities for next year as it is a neat touch.

The lighting of the tree will mark exactly one month before Christmas and really bring out the festive mood in the city. During the holiday season nothing beats strolling the downtown streets to get a sense of the holiday vibe.
