An estimated 160,000 people stopped by the new Vancouver Airport Outlet Mall on opening weekend making it the most successful McArthurGlen centre opening in the world, compared to the other 20 centres that have opened throughout Europe. The traffic count includes four days, from Thursday, July 9 to Sunday July 12.

On opening day the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport saw record-breaking crowds of approximately 45,000 guests, the largest opening for any of McArthurGlen’s 20 designer outlet centres.

Momentum did not wane as the weekend came and despite the cooler and wetter weather over the weekend, shoppers came out in droves to see the new outlet mall.

To accommodate the increased traffic expected at the centre over opening month, the frequency of train services has been increased. Guests are encouraged to take the Canada Line as the centre is easily accessible via public transport, with Canada Line’s Templeton Station located across the street. Shoppers travelling from downtown Vancouver will be at the centre in just over 20 minutes, while those coming from the airport will arrive in three minutes. Travel between the airport and Templeton Station on the Canada Line is free.
