The election results are in and Gregor Robertson has 3 more years to make Vancouver the greenest place on earth. We at Vancity Buzz congratulate him on his 2nd term as mayor.
On a disappointing note only 34.6% of eligible voters bothered to vote in the 2011 election. Although, these numbers are up from 2008, it’s still pretty pathetic.
The above is a map indicating how the city of Vancouver voted. I’d like to see a map of the voter turnout by neighbourhood.
In Surrey, Richmond and Burnaby voter turnouts were worse. With only 25% in Surrey, 24% in Richmond and a reported 15% in Burnaby actually casting a vote.
