According to The Vancouver Sun the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics broke even financially. A detailed breakdown has yet to be provided. We’ll have more on this as it becomes available.
Of course the naysayers will go on and on about the costs of the convention centre, Canada Line and Sea-to-sky improvements. However, they either know very little about ROI or choose to ignore it entirely in order to support their ill-informed case.
Overall, the Olympics were great for this city. Now it’s time for the people and politicians of Vancouver to take the next step as a new Vancouver is set to emerge.
