Vancouver 125 Birthday Party Events

Dec 19 2017, 12:52 pm

Vancouver’s 125 birthday extravaganza is just weeks away and the city has a lot of free family fun planned for Vancouverites and lower mainlanders!

The event will be a “fun-filled, family-friendly” celebration and will include numerous musical acts, which mainly cater to an older crowd. It would have been great to see a cross section of Vancouver’s music scene represented, however, it looks as though the fun police isn’t in tune with the local music scene.

The party will take place at Jack Poole Plaza, by the Olympic Cauldron. The Cauldron will also be lit from 2pm to 10pm for the birthday bash!

The celebration also includes a street-hockey tournament, a giant birthday cake. There is also talk of an innovative video and light-art installation.
The birthday bash goes down April 6th at Jack Poole Plaza.

Schedule:

Street Hockey brought to you by Five Hole For Food: 2:00 – 5:00pm
– Adult teams you may drop in up to 3:30pm

Vancouver 125 ceremony 6:00 – 7:00pm

Main stage performances from 4:00 – 10:00pm

‘Time Drifts’ video & light art installation 8:20pm
