Vibrant new Vaisakhi TransLink bus ready for colourful Vancouver festival

Vancouver’s Vaisakhi celebrations will be extra colourful this month thanks to a new addition to the TransLink fleet.
TransLink has wrapped a bus with a vibrant design honouring Vaisakhi, the annual spring festival in South Asian culture.
Commuters can see the eye-catching design, themed around harvest and unity, on the R1 King George Boulevard RapidBus and R4 41st Avenue RapidBus routes.

“Every April, communities across Metro Vancouver come together to celebrate creating one of the largest Vaisakhi celebrations outside of India,” said TransLink online.
“We take part in this celebration by bringing the spirit of Vaisakhi to the streets, literally. Each year, we wrap one of our buses in a colourful, meaningful design that reflects the joy, unity, and cultural richness of the festival.”

The Vaisakhi bus is decorated with important symbols, including wheat to represent the harvest season, traditional dancers that portray the power of unity, and a drummer to show the spirit of celebration.
Vaisakhi celebrations continue around the region this month, including theĀ Vancouver Vaisakhi Parade happening on Saturday, April 12 and the Surrey Vaisakhi Parade the following Saturday, April 19.
