Vail Resorts has announced a new lift pass that will be available for the 2020-21 season.

On Tuesday, the resort operator revealed the Whistler Blackcomb Day Pass — a new, customizable pass that offers between one to 10 days of access and is designed for mountain-users who may not need a traditional season pass.

Vail says that with the Day Pass, guests will be able to access Whistler Blackcomb “for the equivalent of up to 50% off lift ticket window prices when purchased in advance of the season.”

Two versions of the pass will be offered to mountain-users: a restricted and an unrestricted pass. The restricted pass costs less than its counterpart but users will need to navigate around peak days, such as the holidays. Pricing for this version starts at $118 for adults and $59 for children.

The unrestricted pass will be more expensive but has no restrictions. Pricing will start at $139 for adults and $70 for children. Skiers and snowboarders with either variation of the pass do not need to access the mountain on consecutive dates either.

Visitors will also still be able to purchase two, five, and 10-day Edge Cards as well. Edge Cards are different in that they don’t have any date restrictions and can also be used at other mountains owned by Vail Resorts, such as Vail, Crested Butte, and Park City. They’re also only available to residents of Canada and Washington State, whereas Day Passes are available to anyone visiting Whistler Blackcomb.
