According to the BC Wildfire Service, the fire is being managed by the US Northeast Interagency Dispatch Centre, and is located about 16 km across the border southeast of the BC Interior town of Midway.

And as of noon on Tuesday, the smell of smoke and a light haze from the fires had become noticeable in Vancouver.

The smoke comes at the same time a special weather statement has been issued for Metro Vancouver, warning of high temperatures that are expected this week.
