US President Donald Trump tests positive for coronavirus

US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for coronavirus.

Trump confirmed the news on his Twitter account.

Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” wrote Trump.

Melania Trump also took to Twitter to provide a public update.

As too many Americans have done this year,  @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19,” she stated. 

“We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.”

Earlier on Thursday, Hope Hicks, one of Trump’s closest aides tested positive for the virus. Hicks has been travelling with the president frequently over the past week.
