MARKET by Jean-Georges is embracing the recent changes to the B.C.’s liquor legislation with the introduction of ‘Rush Hour’, a happy hour of sorts featuring an enticing menu of daily appetizer and cocktail specials.

Located on the third floor of Vancouver’s Shangri-La Hotel, MARKET by Jean-Georges invites locals and visitors alike to unwind after a long day at the MARKET bar and terrace with their ‘Rush Hour’ specials, which comprise of thoughtful and delicious food and drink pairings.

Having launched at the beginning of August, MARKET’s ‘Rush Hour’ will be available throughout the year between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Swing by MARKET by Jean-Georges on any given afternoon and you’re in for a real treat as the first round of specials are as follows:

Monday – Vodka and gin martini $7, chicken wings marinated in a black pepper glaze $10
Tuesday – Ginger margarita $7, crispy short rib tacos with chipotle mayo and lime $8
Wednesday – Rosé (Okanagan Valley) $7, popcorn shrimp with ranch dressing $10
Thursday – Grapefruit gimlet $7, chef’s pizza creation $10
Friday – Hugo $7, MARKET house made root chips, served with ranch and sriracha dip $5

Each delectable appetizer highlights cuisine inspired by the classic dishes of Jean-Georges, executed through the leadership of Executive Chef Montgomery Lau, who heads the kitchen at MARKET. Using locally produced ingredients and exotic spices Lau is able to produce both comfort and creativity in his meals.

Aside from enjoying the flavourful ‘Rush Hour’ culinary delights and drink offerings, patrons at MARKET can also savour the decidedly relaxed atmosphere at either the MARKET bar or sun terrace – the décor of which are both stylish yet comfortable.
