Union Gospel Mission feeds thousands at annual Easter Meal

Dec 20 2017, 4:56 am

Another Easter is almost here, which means the annual Union Gospel Mission is getting ready to feed a hearty meal to thousands of Vancouver’s most vulnerable residents.

Each year at Easter, the Union Gospel Mission throws open their doors to the hungry of Vancouver. This year is no exception, with 2500 pounds of ham being prepared, along with 900 pounds of scalloped potatoes, 750 pounds of vegetables, and 600 apple pies.

The meals that take place at the UGM on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas each year are responsible for feeding tens of thousands of Vancouverites, and are run by volunteers and UGM staff, many of which have gone through the UGM’s recovery programs and gotten of the streets themselves.
