A Californian hot dog spot has plans for an outpost in Vancouver, and we can’t wait to try its menu of suped-up creations.
Umai Savory Hot Dogs, a mini-chain hailing from San Jose, California, will be opening a spot at 1331 Robson Street (the former location of Chef Lien Vietnamese Cuisine).

Known for its all-natural, gluten-free, naturally-smoked dogs (with no MSG, by-products, fillers, and artificial flavours and colours), the brand offers a selection of sausages, umami glazed hamburgers, a “famous” waffle dog, a fried banana dog, Poku Wings, special noodles, and more.

Founded in 1992, Umai’s Vancouver eatery seems to be the concept’s first foray into the Canadian market, as they have a handful of locations in the US already.
Umai Vancouver told Daily Hive they are aiming for a late August opening date around the 20th of the month.
We’ll keep you posted if anything changes.
